Bloom or Bust Guarantee

Van Eijk, often admired for its rose pink colouring, is a bulb variety especially well suited to borders.

Tulip ‘Van Eijk’ is a distinguished Darwin hybrid, valued for its large, rose-pink goblet blooms and wonderfully dependable performance in the spring garden. Held on sturdy stems above fresh green foliage, it brings a poised, classic note to borders, pots, and the cutting patch alike.

Plant in autumn for a refined display in April and May. This is an easy-to-grow choice with a confident presence—beautiful in generous drifts, and equally smart in mixed planting schemes where its colour can be echoed or contrasted with deeper purples and soft creams.

Where to Plant:

Tulip 'Van Eijk' needs full-sun and a warm, sheltered position for the best flowering. Plant into fertile, humus-rich soil that drains well, and choose a spot protected from strong winds, especially for taller varieties.

How to Plant:

Plant bulb from September to December once conditions are suitable. Set them at the correct depth for the variety, spacing 10-12 cm apart apart where relevant, then firm in gently and water well after planting.

Aftercare:

Water regularly in dry weather and feed every two to three weeks once buds appear. Stake taller stems early and deadhead to keep plants flowering. After flowering, allow foliage to die back naturally before lifting or protecting bulb according to local conditions.
