Our "Bloom or Bust" Promise

Double Mixed, often admired for its multi-color colouring, is a bulb variety especially well suited to borders.

Tulipa 'Double Mixed' is a late-season blend of sumptuous, peony-like double tulips, selected for an elegant spread of colour—soft pastels alongside brighter notes for a naturally varied planting. With sturdy stems and generously filled blooms, it lends itself beautifully to smart pots by the door, neat drifts at the front of the border, and a few stems brought indoors for spring arrangements.

Plant in autumn and allow the bulbs a well-drained position; come April and May, this mixed selection delivers a richly layered finish to the tulip season.

Where to Plant:

Tulipa 'Double Mixed' needs full-sun, partial sun and a warm, sheltered position for the best flowering. Plant into fertile, humus-rich soil that drains well, and choose a spot protected from strong winds, especially for taller varieties.

How to Plant:

Plant bulb from September to December once conditions are suitable. Set them at the correct depth for the variety, spacing 10–12cm apart where relevant, then firm in gently and water well after planting.

Aftercare:

Water regularly in dry weather and feed every two to three weeks once buds appear. Stake taller stems early and deadhead to keep plants flowering. After flowering, allow foliage to die back naturally before lifting or protecting bulb according to local conditions.
