Elegance Noir, admired for its velvety deep burgundy-purple colouring, is a corm variety especially well suited to cutting.

Ranunculus asiaticus ‘Elegance Noir’ brings exceptional depth to the spring garden, with large, densely layered flowers in velvety dark burgundy-purple. The near-black tones soften to wine and plum as the light catches the petals, creating a dramatic but beautifully refined colour for pots, borders, and cutting.

Part of the Elegance Series, it is valued for full flowers and strong, longer stems. Plant in a warm, sheltered position and cut regularly for luxurious spring bouquets, or group the corms in containers and border drifts for a rich, tonal display.

Where to Plant:

Ranunculus 'Elegance Noir' needs full-sun, partial sun and a warm, sheltered position for the best flowering. Plant into fertile, humus-rich soil that drains well, and choose a spot protected from strong winds.

How to Plant:

Soak the dry corms for 1–3 hours, then plant 5–6cm deep with the claws pointing down. Space them 10–15cm apart, firm in gently and water well after planting.

Aftercare:

Water regularly in dry weather and feed every two to three weeks once buds appear. Cut or deadhead regularly to encourage continued flowering. After flowering, allow foliage to die back naturally before lifting or protecting the corms according to local conditions.
