Our "Bloom or Bust" Promise

Iron Cross, often admired for its pink colouring, is a bulb variety especially well suited to pots & containers.

A small treasure for pots, windowsills and sheltered terraces, Oxalis deppei ‘Iron Cross’ is grown as much for its foliage as its flowers. Each clover-like leaf is neatly stamped with a deep burgundy cross, creating a smart, graphic effect from the moment growth begins.

Come summer, slender stems lift dainty rose-pink blooms above the leaves, bringing a light, cheerful finish that suits container displays beautifully. A charming choice for indoor growing, and equally happy outside once nights are mild.

Where to Plant:

Oxalis 'Iron Cross' (lucky clover) needs full-sun, partial sun and a warm, sheltered position for the best flowering. Plant into fertile, humus-rich soil that drains well, and choose a spot protected from strong winds, especially for taller varieties.

How to Plant:

Plant bulb from March to June once conditions are suitable. Set them at the correct depth for the variety, spacing 10-15cm apart where relevant, then firm in gently and water well after planting.

Aftercare:

Water regularly in dry weather and feed every two to three weeks once buds appear. Stake taller stems early and deadhead to keep plants flowering. After flowering, allow foliage to die back naturally before lifting or protecting bulb according to local conditions.
