Nepeta 'Walker's Low' is one of the best-loved catmints, forming broad, softly aromatic mounds of grey-green foliage topped with long sprays of lavender-blue flowers over many weeks.

It is excellent for sunny borders and wildlife-friendly planting, weaving beautifully around roses and other perennials while attracting bees and butterflies throughout summer.

Plant in full sun and well-drained soil. Once established it is drought tolerant and happily copes with poorer ground, where the growth stays compact and the flowers are held well.

Shear back after the first flush to encourage fresh foliage and repeat flowering. Avoid overly rich, wet soil which can make the growth floppy.
