Our "Bloom or Bust" Promise

Named after the historic and beautiful city in Spain, 'Segovia' reflects the crisp, clean elegance of Spanish architecture, with its white walls and sunny highlights.

A miniature daffodil of immense charm and elegance, 'Segovia' is a delightful Small-Cupped variety that is perfect for smaller spaces. The exquisite flowers feature a perianth of broad, overlapping, snow-white petals that are beautifully proportioned. At the centre sits a small, neatly flattened, disc-like cup of a brilliant, zesty, lemon-yellow. This crisp, high-contrast colour combination is both refreshing and eye-catching. This RHS Award-winning variety has a compact, sturdy habit, making it an ideal choice for rock gardens, gravel gardens, containers, and the very front of the border, where its jewel-like beauty can be admired up close.

Where to Plant:

A beautiful and refined miniature daffodil, 'Segovia' produces exquisite, perfectly formed flowers with broad, ice-white petals and a contrasting small, flat, bright yellow cup. Its neat and tidy habit makes it an ideal choice for situations where a delicate touch is needed. It is perfectly suited to rock gardens, alpine troughs, pots and containers, or for planting at the very front of a sunny, well-drained border where it will not be overshadowed.

How to Plant:

The small bulbs should be planted in the autumn for a lovely spring display. Dig a hole and plant each bulb about 10cm (4 inches) deep, ensuring the pointed end is facing the sky. Because this is a small variety, it has the greatest impact when planted in tight, generous clumps rather than being scattered thinly. Space individual bulbs about 8-10cm from each other to allow them to form a satisfying group.

Aftercare:

This is a very easy daffodil to care for. There is no need to deadhead the small flowers. The most critical part of its care is to let the foliage die back naturally for at least six weeks after flowering has finished before you tidy the area. This is essential for the bulb to build up the energy reserves needed to return and flower again the following spring. It will form neat, slow-spreading clumps over time.
