Fragrant Pheasant's Eye narcissus with white petals and a distinctive red-rimmed golden centre, ideal for naturalising and late-spring borders.

Narcissus 'Pheasant's Eye' is a fragrant late-spring narcissus with elegant white petals surrounding a small golden-yellow cup edged in red. That distinctive centre gives the flower its familiar Pheasant's Eye name and makes it a refined choice for naturalistic and cottage-style planting.

Growing to approximately 35-45cm, it works beautifully through grass, beneath deciduous trees, in borders and in containers. The scented flowers are also excellent for cutting, while established clumps can return and increase over time when the foliage is allowed to die back naturally.

Where to Plant:

Plant Pheasant's Eye narcissus in full sun or partial shade, in moderately fertile soil that remains moist during spring but drains well. It is especially effective in borders, beneath deciduous trees and naturalised through grass.

How to Plant:

Plant the bulbs from September to December, approximately 10-15cm deep and 10-15cm apart, with the pointed end facing upwards. Plant slightly deeper in light soil or grass, then firm the soil and water after planting.

Aftercare:

Deadhead faded flowers if seed is not required, but allow the foliage to yellow and die back naturally so the bulbs can store energy for the following spring. Water during prolonged dry spells while the plants are actively growing. Wear gloves when handling and keep bulbs away from children and pets, as narcissus bulbs are harmful if eaten.
