Our "Bloom or Bust" Promise

Triandrus daffodils like 'Ice Wings' are often called 'Angel's Tears', a name that perfectly captures their delicate, nodding, and ethereal appearance.

An exquisitely beautiful and graceful Triandrus daffodil, 'Ice Wings' lives up to its name with clusters of nodding, ice-white flowers. Each strong stem carries up to three blooms, each with distinctly swept-back, wing-like petals. This strong reflexing of the petals gives the flower an elegant, windswept appearance. The central cup is long and conical, perfectly matching the pristine white of the petals. It is a vigorous grower and a reliable perennialiser, forming lovely clumps that bring a cool, serene beauty to the mid-spring garden. Winner of the prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit, it's a fantastic choice for sophisticated container displays, naturalising under trees, or creating a calming drift of pure white in borders.

Where to Plant:

A beautiful and graceful Triandrus daffodil, 'Ice Wings' produces several nodding flowers on each stem. Each flower is a pure, icy white, with elegant petals that are swept back from the central cup. This variety is perfect for creating a more subtle and refined look in the garden. It is well-suited to the front or middle of borders, rock gardens, or for planting in pots where its elegant form can be appreciated. It prefers a spot in sun or light shade with good, well-drained soil.

How to Plant:

You should plant the bulbs in the autumn for a lovely spring display. Dig a hole and plant each bulb about 12-15cm (5-6 inches) deep, ensuring the pointed end is facing the sky. Because each stem carries multiple flowers, they are most effective when planted in small, dense groups or generous drifts, rather than being spaced out too far apart. Space individual bulbs about 10cm from each other.

Aftercare:

This is a low-maintenance daffodil. There is no need to deadhead the flowers unless you wish to. The most important part of their care is to let the foliage die back naturally for a minimum of six weeks after flowering has finished. Do not be tempted to cut it back or tidy it away while it is green, as the leaves are busy feeding the bulb for next year's performance. It will form larger clumps over time.
