Where to Plant:
A particularly robust and showy variety, 'Bling Bling' has densely packed, deep cobalt-blue flowers on strong stems, making it an excellent and long-lasting cut flower. It is very adaptable and will grow well in almost any position, from full sun to partial shade, in any reasonable garden soil with decent drainage. It is superb for creating bold blocks of colour in borders, for edging paths, or for cramming into pots for a vibrant spring display.
How to Plant:
You should plant the small bulbs in the autumn for a reliable spring show. Plant each bulb at a depth of around 10cm (4 inches) with the pointed tip facing towards the sky. They have the greatest impact when planted in large numbers. For a dense block of colour, space the bulbs just 5cm apart from each other. Simply dig a wide, shallow hole, scatter the bulbs in, and cover them over.
Aftercare:
Grape Hyacinths are very easy to care for. Do not be alarmed if they produce their grassy leaves in the autumn; this is a normal part of their growth cycle. After they have flowered in the spring, allow the foliage to wither and turn yellow on its own. This feeds the bulb for future years. They will spread readily to form larger clumps. Deadhead the spent flowers if you want to prevent them from self-seeding around the garden.
We partner with elite growers to provide only top-size, professional-grade bulbs. Bigger bulbs mean stronger roots and more spectacular blooms.
