Bloom or Bust Guarantee

Monarda foliage is aromatic and the nectar-rich blooms are especially attractive to bees, butterflies and other beneficial insects in midsummer gardens.

Monarda 'Beauty of Cobham' produces soft pink, shaggy flower heads that bring a lighter, more delicate look to summer borders while still offering the pollinator appeal bee balms are known for.

The upright stems rise above aromatic foliage and fit well into cottage-style or wildlife planting, where the blooms add colour and movement in midsummer.

Plant in full sun or light shade in moisture-retentive, well-drained soil, giving the clump enough space and air movement to help keep the foliage in good condition.

Water well while establishing and during dry spells, cut spent flowers if you wish to tidy the display, and divide congested clumps every few years.

Where to Plant:

Choose a sunny position, or light partial shade where stated, with well-drained but reasonably fertile soil. These hardy perennials suit mixed borders, wildlife planting and naturalistic schemes.

How to Plant:

Plant bare roots into prepared soil in spring with the crown set at soil level and roots spread out naturally. Water in well and mulch around the clump to help retain moisture while plants establish.

Aftercare:

Water during the first growing season and during long dry spells thereafter. Remove spent flowers if you want a tidier display, or leave some seedheads for structure and wildlife where appropriate.
