Bloom or Bust Guarantee

The tall, sequentially opening spikes of gladioli make them favourites for floral design, while their strong vertical form adds structure and rhythm to summer borders.

Gladiolus 'Wine and Roses' bears blush-pink flowers richly marked with deeper wine-red tones, producing elegant vertical spikes that bring colour and contrast to midsummer and early autumn planting.

The stems rise to around 100–120 cm and make superb cut flowers, weaving easily through herbaceous borders or standing out in dedicated cutting patches.

Plant corms in a sunny, sheltered site with fertile, well-drained soil once spring is underway. Staggering planting times can help extend the overall display.

Keep plants watered during dry spells and support taller stems if needed. In colder areas, lift and store corms once foliage has yellowed after flowering.

Where to Plant:

Grow gladioli in full sun in fertile, well-drained soil with shelter from strong winds. They are excellent for borders and cutting patches where their tall flower spikes can rise above lower planting.

How to Plant:

Plant corms in spring once the soil begins to warm, spacing them evenly and setting them several centimetres deep with the pointed side upwards. Successional planting every couple of weeks helps extend the flowering season.

Aftercare:

Keep plants watered in dry spells and stake taller stems if the site is exposed. Lift corms after foliage yellows in autumn in colder areas, dry them thoroughly and store frost free until replanting.
