Bloom or Bust Guarantee

Award-winning Echinacea 'Magnus' is especially valued for its broad petals and strong stems, which give the flowers an unusually bold, open-faced appearance in the border.

Echinacea 'Magnus' is a classic coneflower variety, producing large rose-purple blooms with broad, almost horizontal petals around a prominent coppery cone from midsummer onward.

It forms strong, upright clumps that work beautifully in mixed herbaceous borders, naturalistic planting and cutting gardens, while also drawing bees and butterflies into the garden.

Plant in full sun or light shade in well-drained soil, and avoid positions where the crown will sit in winter wet. Once established, it is a dependable and low-maintenance perennial.

Remove faded flowers if you want to encourage more blooms, or leave seedheads for autumn interest and wildlife before cutting back in late season.

Where to Plant:

Choose a sunny position, or light partial shade where stated, with well-drained but reasonably fertile soil. These hardy perennials suit mixed borders, wildlife planting and naturalistic schemes.

How to Plant:

Plant bare roots into prepared soil in spring with the crown set at soil level and roots spread out naturally. Water in well and mulch around the clump to help retain moisture while plants establish.

Aftercare:

Water during the first growing season and during long dry spells thereafter. Remove spent flowers if you want a tidier display, or leave some seedheads for structure and wildlife where appropriate.
