Our "Bloom or Bust" Promise

Mr Fokker, often admired for its violet-blue colouring, is a corm variety especially well suited to borders.

Anemone coronaria 'Mr Fokker' brings a note of quiet drama to the spring garden: velvety violet-blue, saucer-shaped blooms, each finished with a striking dark centre. It’s a refined choice for borders and containers alike, and particularly charming in the vase—cut a few stems and the whole room looks instantly more composed.

  • Colour: Violet-blue with a dark centre
  • Best for: Borders, containers and cutting
  • Season of interest: Spring flowering

Plant the corms in autumn for a generous show from early to mid-spring, especially in a south-facing, sheltered position with light, well-drained soil.

Where to Plant:

Anemone 'Mr Fokker' needs full-sun and a warm, sheltered position for the best flowering. Plant into fertile, humus-rich soil that drains well, and choose a spot protected from strong winds, especially for taller varieties.

How to Plant:

Plant corm from September to December once conditions are suitable. Set them at the correct depth for the variety, spacing 10–15cm apart where relevant, then firm in gently and water well after planting.

Aftercare:

Water regularly in dry weather and feed every two to three weeks once buds appear. Stake taller stems early and deadhead to keep plants flowering. After flowering, allow foliage to die back naturally before lifting or protecting corm according to local conditions.
