A truly sensational and flamboyant daffodil, 'Sunlover' is a Split-Corona variety that brings a blaze of fiery colour to the spring garden. The flower has a perianth of pure, clean white petals, which provides the ultimate high-contrast backdrop for the stunning corona. The cup is exceptionally large, deeply split, and so extravagantly ruffled and frilled it almost completely covers the petals. The colour is an intense, saturated, glowing orange that is simply breathtaking. As the flower matures, the orange colour deepens, making for a long-lasting and dynamic display. 'Sunlover' is a true showstopper, guaranteed to turn heads and draw compliments, bringing the warmth and energy of the sun to any border or vase.
Split-corona daffodils are often called "Orchid Daffodils" and 'Sunlover' is a perfect example why. Its huge, colourful, and intricate central corona gives it the exotic appearance of a tropical orchid.

Where to Plant:
This is a dazzling and flamboyant split-corona daffodil that lives up to its name with a fiery display of colour. The flowers have bright yellow outer petals and a large, frilly central cup that is split into segments of intense, glowing orange. To achieve the most vibrant colour, a position in full sun is essential. It is a real statement plant, perfect for a sunny border or a large container where its dramatic form can be fully appreciated. It thrives in any fertile, well-drained soil.
How to Plant:
The large bulbs should be planted in the autumn, anytime from September to November. Dig a hole and plant each bulb at a depth that is roughly twice its own height, which is typically about 15cm (6 inches) deep. Place the bulb in the hole with its pointed tip facing upwards and cover with soil. To allow the large flowers to open properly, space the bulbs about 15cm apart. Water once after planting to settle the soil.
Aftercare:
After the magnificent flowers have faded, it is good practice to deadhead them by snipping off the flower head before it can form a seed pod. The most important rule is to let the foliage die back naturally for a minimum of six weeks. Do not be tempted to cut it back or tie it into knots. This is an essential period where the bulb stores energy, ensuring it has the strength to produce its beautiful, complex flowers again the following spring.
We partner with elite growers to provide only top-size, professional-grade bulbs. Bigger bulbs mean stronger roots and more spectacular blooms.

I ordered the mixed hyacinth collection and the scent in my garden this April was absolutely heavenly. Every single bulb produced a strong, beautiful flower and the colours were stunning together. A fantastic purchase, I'll be back for more next year!
