Lewisia 'Little Plum'
A gorgeous little alpine gem, 'Little Plum' is a cultivar of Lewisia cotyledon, prized for its vibrant flowers and neat habit. It forms a tight, evergreen rosette of fleshy, succulent, deep green leaves. From mid-spring into summer, the plant sends up an abundance of short stems, each carrying a cluster of beautiful, star-shaped flowers. The colour is a rich and luscious shade of deep plum-pink or magenta, often with delicate, darker veining on the petals, creating a very striking display against the green foliage. Like all Lewisias, it is incredibly floriferous, often producing so many blooms that the rosette is completely hidden. It is a true rock garden plant, demanding sharp drainage to thrive. It is perfect for growing in alpine troughs, rockeries, gravel beds, or planted vertically in the crevices of walls.
