Lewisia 'Little Mango'
Little Mango' is an incredibly vibrant and rewarding alpine plant, perfect for adding a splash of intense colour to small spaces. It forms a neat, tight rosette of fleshy, evergreen, strap-like leaves. From spring through to summer, this rosette produces an astonishing number of short stems, each carrying a cluster of beautiful, open-faced, star-shaped flowers. The colour is simply electric, a brilliant shade of rich, tropical mango-orange, often with subtle, deeper orange or reddish stripes along the petals. This plant is famed for its floriferous nature, often flowering so profusely that it completely hides the foliage. Native to rocky environments, it demands sharp drainage and is perfect for growing in rockeries, gravel gardens, alpine troughs, or tucked into the crevices of stone walls where it can be admired up close.
