Fritillaria 'Red Beauty'
A truly stunning Crown Imperial, 'Red Beauty' is a slightly more compact but incredibly vibrant variety. It produces a tall, strong stem that is topped by a whorl of large, nodding, bell-shaped flowers. The colour is an intense and glowing vermilion-red, making it a fiery beacon in the spring garden. Above the flowers sits the characteristic pineapple-like tuft of green leaves. Its slightly shorter stature makes it a bit more robust in windy positions compared to its taller cousins, without sacrificing any of the dramatic architectural impact. The bulb's foxy scent is a reliable deterrent for rodents.
