Crocus 'Pickwick'
A famous and much-loved heirloom variety, 'Pickwick' is a classic large-flowered Dutch Crocus that has graced gardens for generations. It is instantly recognisable for its beautifully patterned flowers. Each large, chalice-shaped bloom has a lovely pale, silvery-lilac ground colour that is delicately and artistically pinstriped with fine veins of deep violet-purple. The effect is elegant and refined, adding a layer of texture and interest that many solid-coloured crocuses lack. When the sun shines, the flowers open to reveal a glowing orange stigma, creating a cheerful contrast at the heart of the bloom. 'Pickwick' is a holder of the prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit for its reliability, vigorous growth, and outstanding beauty. It is an excellent choice for naturalising in lawns, where it will create beautiful, patterned carpets of colour year after year.
