Our "Bloom or Bust" Promise

A true garden jewel! This classic, award-winning hyacinth has been a gardener's favourite for over 100 years, first listed in 1922.

Prepare to be dazzled by the radiant beauty of Hyacinth 'Pink Pearl'. A true gem for the spring garden, this classic variety boasts densely packed spires of star-shaped florets in a stunning, iridescent shade of magenta-pink. Winner of the prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit, its reliability and performance are guaranteed. The intoxicatingly sweet perfume is a signature of the season, making 'Pink Pearl' an essential choice for planting in pots near doorways, along pathways, or in bold drifts at the front of borders. For a truly breathtaking display, pair it with the deep blues of Muscari armeniacum or the pristine white of Tulip 'White Dream'.

Where to Plant:

Choose a spot in full sun or light shade with fertile, well-drained soil. Hyacinths are perfect for the front of borders, formal bedding schemes, or in containers and window boxes where their powerful fragrance can be appreciated up close. A sheltered position is best to protect the heavy flower heads from strong winds and rain.

How to Plant:

Plant bulbs from September to December, 15cm deep and 10-15cm apart, with the pointed end facing upwards. For a natural look in borders, plant them in informal groups of at least 5-7 bulbs. Water well after planting. Always wear gloves when handling hyacinth bulbs as they can cause skin irritation.

Aftercare:

Once flowers have faded, deadhead the stalk but allow the foliage to die back naturally; this feeds the bulb for next year's display. In containers, you can either lift and store the bulbs in a cool, dry place once the foliage has died down, or simply ensure the pot has excellent drainage over winter.
