Where to Plant:

Choose a spot in full sun or light shade with fertile, well-drained soil. 'City of Haarlem' is perfect for front-of-border displays, patio containers, or window boxes where its heavenly scent can be appreciated. For indoor forcing, plant in pots with bulb fibre.

How to Plant:

Plant bulbs from September to December, about 10-15cm deep and 10cm apart, with the pointed end facing up. Wear gloves when handling bulbs as they can cause skin irritation. Water well after planting to settle the soil.

Aftercare:

After flowering, deadhead the spent blooms but allow the foliage to die back naturally. This feeds the bulb for next year's display. In containers, reduce watering as the leaves yellow. A liquid tomato feed can be applied after flowering to boost the bulb.
