Our "Bloom or Bust" Promise

Evergreen' is one of the very few true green-flowering Amaryllis varieties available, making it a rare novelty and a prized collector's item for bulb enthusiasts.

A truly extraordinary and highly sought-after variety, 'Evergreen' is the ultimate Amaryllis for lovers of the unique and unconventional. It is a stunning Cybister type, prized for its exotic, orchid-like flowers that are a startling and beautiful shade of cool, zesty lime-green. The slender, elegantly tapered petals sweep back gracefully, creating a spidery, dynamic form that is incredibly chic and modern. A subtle flush of white or cream often highlights the centre of the bloom, adding depth and a luminous quality to the fresh green colouring. 'Evergreen' is a floral masterpiece that feels both organic and otherworldly at the same time. It provides a cool, refreshing, and incredibly sophisticated alternative to the traditional warm tones of festive flowers, making it a spectacular choice for contemporary interior design and a guaranteed conversation starter.

Where to Plant:

This is a unique and elegant variety with more unusual, slender, lime-green and white flowers. It is a tender indoor bulb, best grown in a container where its needs can be met. Select a pot that allows for about 2-3cm of space around the bulb. To initiate growth, it requires a warm room with plenty of bright, indirect light. A spot on an east or west-facing windowsill is often ideal to prevent the flowers from fading too quickly in strong sun.

How to Plant:

Plant the bulb in autumn, around 8-10 weeks before you would like it to flower. Use a well-drained, peat-free potting compost. Position the bulb in the pot so that its 'shoulders' and neck are showing, with roughly the top third exposed. After planting, water it thoroughly once to settle the compost. Do not water again until new growth is clearly visible, as the bulb contains all the moisture it needs to get started.

Aftercare:

When a green shoot appears, begin watering regularly, allowing the compost to slightly dry out between waterings. Feed every few weeks with a houseplant fertiliser once leaves have formed. After the flowers fade, cut down the spent flower stem, but allow the foliage to grow on. Water and feed throughout summer. To get it to re-flower, you must induce a dormant period in early autumn by stopping all water and moving the pot to a cool, dark, dry place for about two months. Then, bring it back into the light and water once to begin the cycle again.
