Where to Plant:

Hyacinths thrive in a sunny or lightly shaded spot in well-drained soil. They are perfect for the front of borders, patio pots, window boxes, or for 'forcing' indoors for an early burst of colour and scent. Their strong, upright form provides excellent structure.

How to Plant:

Plant bulbs 10-15cm deep and about 10-15cm apart in autumn, from September to December. Position the bulb with the pointed end facing upwards. For container planting, you can place them slightly closer together for a fuller display. Always wear gloves when handling hyacinth bulbs as they can cause skin irritation.

Aftercare:

Water well after planting. In spring, once the flowers have faded, deadhead the stalk but allow the foliage to die back naturally. This process feeds the bulb for the following year's display. In containers, ensure they don't dry out completely during dry spells.
