A flower of exquisite beauty and elegance, 'Obdam' is a world-class Double daffodil, celebrated for its huge, gardenia-like blooms. The flowers are incredibly full, packed with multiple layers of broad, silky, ivory-white petals that create a perfect, sculptural rosette. As the flower matures, a cluster of shorter, creamy-yellow petaloids can sometimes be seen in the very heart of the bloom, adding a touch of depth. The fragrance is sweet and delightful, though not overpowering. 'Obdam' is a very late-flowering variety, extending the daffodil season with its opulent, long-lasting display. It is a robust and reliable performer, perfect for adding a touch of pure luxury and romance to the garden and for creating breathtaking bouquets.
Obdam' is the double-flowered sport of the famous Large-Cupped daffodil 'Ice Follies'. It maintains the vigour of its parent but transforms the single cup into a magnificent, multi-layered confection.

Where to Plant:
This is a truly stunning double-flowered daffodil, producing large, fragrant, gardenia-like blooms of a beautiful creamy ivory-white. It is a showstopper in the mid-spring border and is also an excellent choice for growing in large containers where its intricate form and scent can be enjoyed. Due to the weight of the magnificent flower heads, a position that provides some shelter from strong winds and heavy spring rains is recommended to keep the stems standing tall. It thrives in sun or light shade in well-drained soil.
How to Plant:
The bulbs should be planted in the autumn, anytime from September to November. Dig a hole and plant each bulb at a depth that is roughly twice its own height, which is typically about 15cm (6 inches). Place the bulb in the hole with its pointed tip facing upwards and cover with soil. Space the bulbs at least 10-15cm apart to give each plant enough room to develop and to ensure good air circulation.
Aftercare:
After the beautiful flowers have faded, you can snip off the spent blooms to tidy the plant and direct all its energy back into the bulb. The most important rule for ensuring a good display next year is to allow the foliage to die back naturally for a minimum of six weeks after flowering has finished. Do not cut it back or tie it in knots during this crucial period of regeneration.
We partner with elite growers to provide only top-size, professional-grade bulbs. Bigger bulbs mean stronger roots and more spectacular blooms.

I ordered the mixed hyacinth collection and the scent in my garden this April was absolutely heavenly. Every single bulb produced a strong, beautiful flower and the colours were stunning together. A fantastic purchase, I'll be back for more next year!
