Our "Bloom or Bust" Promise

The pink colour in daffodils is not a true pink but comes from orange carotenoid pigments. Breeders have worked for decades to intensify this trait to create varieties with clear, strong pink cups like 'Pink Charm'.

A truly beautiful and eye-catching Large-Cupped daffodil, 'Pink Charm' is celebrated for its distinct and lovely colouring. The flower features a perianth of broad, pure white petals that provide a perfect, crisp backdrop for the main feature. The cup is large and trumpet-like, opening a soft creamy-yellow but quickly developing a deep, coral-pink colour that is intensified by a beautifully ruffled and brighter pink rim. This strong and clear pink colour is what sets it apart from many other pink daffodils. Standing tall on strong stems in mid-spring, 'Pink Charm' is a reliable and striking variety that brings a touch of warm, romantic colour to the garden and makes a fabulous cut flower.

Where to Plant:

This is a deservedly popular and beautiful large-cupped daffodil, known for its large, pure white petals and a flared, ruffled cup that opens a soft primrose-yellow before maturing to a rich coral-pink. For the best and most long-lasting pink colouration, a position in light, dappled shade is ideal as this protects the cup from fading in strong sunlight. It is a wonderful choice for borders and containers, and grows well in any fertile, well-drained soil.

How to Plant:

The bulbs should be planted in the autumn, anytime from September to November. Dig a hole and plant each bulb at a depth that is roughly twice its own height, which is typically about 15cm (6 inches) deep. Place the bulb in the hole with its pointed tip facing upwards and cover with soil. Space bulbs at least 10-15cm apart to give each plant enough room to develop into a healthy clump. Water once after planting.

Aftercare:

After the flowers have faded, you can snip off the spent bloom to stop the plant from putting energy into making seeds. The most critical rule is to allow the long, grassy foliage to die back completely on its own, for at least six weeks after flowering has finished. Do not cut it back or tie it in knots during this important period of regeneration, as the leaves are feeding the bulb for next year's display.
