They feature a beautiful mix of broad, ivory-white outer petals interspersed with a densely packed, frilly centre of smaller petals in a warm salmon-pink to apricot-rose. Where to Plant:

'Replete' is a stunning and wonderfully flamboyant double-flowered daffodil. It produces very large, peony-like blooms, packed with a frothy mix of creamy-white and salmon-pink ruffled petals. It is a real showstopper and is best planted as a feature in borders or in large containers where its extravagant form can be admired. Due to the size and weight of the flower heads, a position that offers some shelter from strong winds and heavy spring rain is a good idea. It grows well in sun or light shade in fertile, well-drained soil.

How to Plant:

You should plant the large bulbs in the autumn. Dig a hole to a depth that is about twice the height of the bulb, usually around 15cm (6 inches), and place the bulb inside with the pointed tip facing up. To allow the large flowers space to open fully, position the bulbs about 15cm apart. Water once after planting to settle the soil around them.

Aftercare:

After the magnificent flowers have faded, it is good practice to deadhead them by snipping off the flower head before it can form a seed pod. The most important rule is to let the foliage die back naturally for a minimum of six weeks. Do not be tempted to cut it back or tie it into knots. This is an essential period where the bulb stores energy, ensuring it has the strength to produce its beautiful, complex flowers again the following spring.
