Where to Plant:

This is a charming and very popular miniature daffodil. As a Tazetta type, it produces several small, beautifully fragrant flowers on each stem. The flowers have creamy-white petals and a contrasting buttery-yellow cup. Its small stature makes it a perfect choice for the front of a sunny border, a rock or gravel garden, and it is especially well-suited to growing in pots and containers where its dainty form can be appreciated up close. It thrives in full sun and well-drained soil.

How to Plant:

The small bulbs should be planted in the autumn, from September to November. Dig a hole and plant each bulb at a depth of about 10cm (4 inches), which is roughly twice the height of the bulb itself. Place the bulb in the hole with the pointed tip facing upwards. They look most effective when planted in tight, generous clumps to create a full display. Space the bulbs about 8-10cm apart.

Aftercare:

'Minnow' is a very low-maintenance and reliable daffodil. After the flowers have finished, the most important rule is to allow the fine, grassy foliage to die back naturally for at least six weeks. Do not cut it back or tie it up during this crucial period, as the leaves are feeding the bulb for next year's performance. In the right conditions, it will multiply each year to form a larger, denser clump.
