Where to Plant:
This is one of the world's most popular and reliable daffodils, famed for its classic, large, golden-yellow flowers and exceptional vigour. It is incredibly versatile and is the perfect choice for creating bold, traditional drifts of spring colour. Plant it in borders, containers, or for naturalising on a grand scale in lawns, on banks, or under deciduous trees. It is very adaptable, thriving in full sun or partial shade in any reasonable, well-drained garden soil.
How to Plant:
The bulbs should be planted in the autumn, anytime from September to November. Dig a hole and plant each bulb at a depth that is roughly twice its own height, which for this variety is typically about 15cm (6 inches) deep. Ensure the pointed tip is facing skywards. If planting in grass for a natural effect, a good method is to scatter the bulbs across the area and plant them where they fall. Space them at least 10cm apart to allow them to multiply.
Aftercare:
A very low-maintenance and rewarding daffodil. After the flowers have faded, you can snip off the spent bloom to stop the plant forming seeds. The most critical part of their care is to allow the long, grassy foliage to die back completely on its own, for at least six weeks after flowering has finished. Do not cut it back or mow the area during this time, as the leaves are feeding the bulb for next year's spectacular, reliable display.
We partner with elite growers to provide only top-size, professional-grade bulbs. Bigger bulbs mean stronger roots and more spectacular blooms.
