Fragrant Narcissus

Narcissus 'Bridal Crown' is a quietly luxurious double daffodil, cherished for its creamy-white blooms warmed with soft yellow and, most notably, its delicious fragrance. Flowering through mid-spring, it brings a refined brightness to borders, gravel gardens and smart pots by the front door—equally lovely gathered for a simple, scented vase indoors.

• Flowering: March–May
• Height: 50cm
• Best for: Borders, containers and cutting gardens
• Character: Double flowers, beautifully scented

Plant in generous drifts for a classic spring display, or tuck into containers where the perfume can be enjoyed at close quarters. As a fully hardy perennial, it will return each year, building into a handsome, clump-forming presence with time.

Narcissus 'Avalanche' is a beautifully mannered daffodil, carrying generous clusters of small blooms—crisp white petals poised around a neat yellow cup, with a light, pleasing scent. It is particularly elegant threaded through the front of borders, tucked beneath deciduous shrubs, or gathered in pots by the door for a refined spring welcome.

Flowering reliably from March to May and reaching around 35cm, it forms tidy clumps over time and looks wonderfully at home in both traditional cottage planting and smarter city courtyards. Plant in autumn and allow it to settle; the display improves year on year.

Narcissus 'Geranium' is a beautifully mannered tazetta-type daffodil, valued for its neat clusters of white blooms, each one finished with a richly coloured orange-red cup. Lightly scented and effortlessly smart, it brings a refined lift to spring containers, the front of borders, and underplanting beneath shrubs and roses.

Plant in autumn and allow it to settle; in return, you’ll enjoy a poised display that looks as at home in a formal pot as it does naturalised through an informal planting scheme.

Perfectly proportioned for pots, troughs and smaller garden spaces, it excels in a warm, sunny position with light, free-draining soil. Plant in autumn and allow it to settle; in return, it will form charming clumps that quietly improve year after year.

Narcissus 'Pheasant's Eye' is a fragrant late-spring narcissus with elegant white petals surrounding a small golden-yellow cup edged in red. That distinctive centre gives the flower its familiar Pheasant's Eye name and makes it a refined choice for naturalistic and cottage-style planting.

Growing to approximately 35-45cm, it works beautifully through grass, beneath deciduous trees, in borders and in containers. The scented flowers are also excellent for cutting, while established clumps can return and increase over time when the foliage is allowed to die back naturally.

• Flowering period: April-May
• Flower colour: white petals with a yellow cup and fine red rim
• Position: full sun or partial shade
• Best used for: naturalising, borders, containers and cut flowers

Narcissus 'Thalia' is an elegant white triandrus daffodil, loved for its graceful nodding flowers and soft fragrance. Each stem can carry several milk-white blooms, giving pots, borders and naturalised drifts a refined spring finish.

Plant the bulbs in autumn in well-drained soil, in full sun or light partial shade. Thalia is fully hardy, deer and rodent resistant, and especially useful for calm white spring planting schemes, containers, woodland edges and cutting.
