Our "Bloom or Bust" Promise

Nymph' belongs to a famous series of double-flowered Amaryllis. Its sister, 'Cherry Nymph' (red), and cousin, 'Sweet Nymph' (pink/white), share the same magnificent, multi-petalled form.

An icon of pure, classic beauty, 'Nymph' (often sold as 'White Nymph') is one of the most beloved double-flowered Amaryllis varieties. It produces magnificent, enormous blooms that are densely packed with layers of broad, velvety petals, creating a spectacular, peony-like flower head. The colour is a flawless, immaculate snow-white, with a subtle hint of apple-green deep in the throat that only enhances its purity. The sheer size and substance of the blooms are breathtaking, and they are held aloft on strong, sturdy stems that do justice to their weight and grandeur. 'Nymph' is the essence of winter elegance, offering a display of opulent, cloud-like flowers that bring a sense of peace, luxury, and timeless style to any indoor setting. It is a benchmark for white double Amaryllis and a must-have for anyone wanting an effortlessly glamorous and sophisticated floral display.

Where to Plant:

This gorgeous variety, which produces enormous, fully double white flowers delicately flushed with salmon-pink, must be grown in a pot as a houseplant. Choose a container that is only a little wider than the bulb itself, as they perform best when their roots are slightly confined. To encourage growth, the pot should be kept in a warm room with plenty of bright, indirect light. A spot on an east-facing windowsill is often perfect.

How to Plant:

To have flowers for winter, plant the bulb during the autumn. Use a good quality, well-drained potting compost. When placing the bulb in the pot, ensure that the top third of the bulb remains showing above the soil surface. After potting, give it one thorough watering and then do not water it again until you see the first green shoot beginning to emerge. This is crucial to prevent the dormant bulb from rotting.

Aftercare:

Once the plant is in active growth, water it regularly whenever the top layer of compost feels dry. Feed with a balanced liquid fertiliser every two weeks to build the bulb's energy. After the beautiful flowers fade, cut down the flower stalk but allow the leaves to grow on. Continue to water and feed through the summer. In early autumn, trigger dormancy by stopping all watering and moving the pot to a cool, dark place for 8-10 weeks before bringing it out to start the cycle again.
