Its nodding, milky-white bell-shaped flowers, each tipped with a distinctive green V-shape on the inner petals, are a truly welcome sight. Where to Plant:

Snowdrops thrive in moist, humus-rich, well-drained soil in dappled shade, such as beneath deciduous trees and shrubs. They are perfect for woodland gardens, rockeries, the front of borders, or naturalising in lawns.

How to Plant:

Plant dry bulbs in early autumn, around 10cm deep and 5-8cm apart, with the pointed tip facing upwards. Plant in generous drifts for the most natural and impactful display, then water well after planting.

Aftercare:

Leave the foliage to die back naturally after flowering; this helps each bulb store energy for the following year's display. Over time, clumps will multiply and can be lifted and divided after flowering to spread them further around your garden.
