Our "Bloom or Bust" Promise

Rip Van Winkle, often admired for its golden yellow with green-tinged centres colouring, is a bulb variety especially well suited to pots & containers.

Narcissus 'Rip van Winkle' is a delightfully characterful little daffodil, prized for its starry, double blooms in golden yellow with a subtle green tinge through the centre. Held on neat, short stems, it brings a bright, detailed finish to the front of borders and looks particularly refined in pots where its intricate form can be admired up close.

Equally happy tucked into naturalised pockets, this fully hardy, clump-forming perennial returns each spring with quietly cheerful presence. An easy choice for elegant spring combinations, and a charming way to begin the season.

Where to Plant:

Narcissus 'Rip Van Winkle' (Daffodil) needs full-sun, partial sun and a warm, sheltered position for the best flowering. Plant into fertile, humus-rich soil that drains well, and choose a spot protected from strong winds, especially for taller varieties.

How to Plant:

Plant bulb from September to December once conditions are suitable. Set them at the correct depth for the variety, spacing 10cm apart where relevant, then firm in gently and water well after planting.

Aftercare:

Water regularly in dry weather and feed every two to three weeks once buds appear. Stake taller stems early and deadhead to keep plants flowering. After flowering, allow foliage to die back naturally before lifting or protecting bulb according to local conditions.
