Double Mixed, often admired for its mixed colouring, is a corm variety especially well suited to pots & containers.

Freesia 'Double Mixed' brings a deliciously perfumed note to the late winter and spring greenhouse, with neatly doubled blooms carried on elegant, arching stems. This refined mixture offers a painterly range of tones—ideal for pots on the terrace when the weather softens, and quite superb for cutting when you want fragrance as well as colour.

As a Half Hardy freesia, it is happiest with protection from frost. In colder areas, we recommend growing under glass or in a bright, frost-free spot for reliable performance.

Where to Plant:

Freesia 'Double Mixed' needs full-sun and a warm, sheltered position for the best flowering. Plant into fertile, humus-rich soil that drains well, and choose a spot protected from strong winds, especially for taller varieties.

How to Plant:

Plant corm from September to December once conditions are suitable. Set them at the correct depth for the variety, spacing 10cm apart where relevant, then firm in gently and water well after planting.

Aftercare:

Water regularly in dry weather and feed every two to three weeks once buds appear. Stake taller stems early and deadhead to keep plants flowering. After flowering, allow foliage to die back naturally before lifting or protecting corm according to local conditions.
