Our "Bloom or Bust" Promise

Dahlias were first cultivated in Mexico and later became prized ornamental plants in Europe, where breeders developed the richly coloured decorative forms now favoured in borders and floral work.

Dahlia 'Blushing Lady' offers richly blended blooms in peach, mango and soft pink tones, bringing warmth and depth to summer borders as the flowers continue to open over many weeks.

With a compact, bushy habit and generous fully double blooms, it suits both mixed beds and cutting gardens, where the flowers add a softer, sunset palette to arrangements.

Plant tubers into fertile, well-drained soil in a sunny spot once frost danger has passed, and provide regular moisture as plants begin active growth.

Keep deadheading throughout the season to prolong flowering, and lift tubers in autumn for frost-free winter storage where winters are cold.

Where to Plant:

Choose a sunny, sheltered position with fertile, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil. Dahlias thrive in warmth and perform best where they receive plenty of light and good air movement.

How to Plant:

Start tubers under cover in spring or plant out once frosts have passed. Set the crown just below the soil surface, spacing plants well so stems have room to develop. Add support early for taller varieties and improve soil with compost before planting.

Aftercare:

Water regularly in dry spells and feed through the growing season to support repeat flowering. Deadhead often to keep new buds coming, and lift tubers after the first frost in colder areas for frost-free winter storage.
