Lilium candidum, the much-admired Madonna lily, brings a sense of quiet grandeur to early summer borders. From strong stems rise immaculate, trumpet-shaped blooms in pure white, lightly perfumed and perfectly poised for cutting. It is a classic choice for cottage-style planting schemes and refined, scented gardens alike.
