Hollandia, often admired for its red with white centre and dark (purple-black) eye colouring, is a corm variety especially well suited to pots & containers.

Anemone coronaria (De Caen Group) 'Hollandia' is a quietly dramatic classic—velvety scarlet blooms, a crisp pale halo, and that unmistakable dark, inky eye. Perfectly poised at the front of a sunny border, and equally handsome in pots where you can admire the detail up close.

Plant in autumn for a refined early-spring display, then enjoy generous stems for cutting—beautiful slipped into small vases, or gathered into a more abundant arrangement with tulips and ranunculus.

Where to Plant:

Anemone 'Hollandia' (Garden anemone) needs full-sun and a warm, sheltered position for the best flowering. Plant into fertile, humus-rich soil that drains well, and choose a spot protected from strong winds, especially for taller varieties.

How to Plant:

Plant corm from September to December once conditions are suitable. Set them at the correct depth for the variety, spacing 10–15cm apart where relevant, then firm in gently and water well after planting.

Aftercare:

Water regularly in dry weather and feed every two to three weeks once buds appear. Stake taller stems early and deadhead to keep plants flowering. After flowering, allow foliage to die back naturally before lifting or protecting corm according to local conditions.
